Christikon Partners with MAC to Continue Sojourners Camp -  Support for Scholarships Invited

Seeking to preserve a ministry partnership begun last year with the Montana Association of Churches (MAC), Christikon has offered to underwrite the costs of hosting this year’s Sojourners Camp.

Sojourners Camp, a MAC initiative, is offered without cost to at-risk youth ages 9-13. Its purpose is to offer a positive and formative experience of friendship, respect, resilient problem solving, with a sense of wonder and adventure in a Montana wilderness area.  ...more>

 

Campers and Staff to Tell the Story

We live by stories. They offer us a narrative that promises to hold things together in our experiencing, our remembering, and our expecting.

Christian faith is practically inconceivable without a particular story: The story of Jesus Christ stands at the center of the whole biblical story for us; and we tell those old stories over and over because we find there the key to our own stories. In them we even find ourselves confronted by the judgment and mercy of God, bearing for us a promise of who we are and where we’re headed and ways we might live out the new life offered us in Christ.   ...more >

Why Does Christikon Matter? Board Members Write....

The "so what" question was posed to Board members. These are some of their responses:

I grew up in the flat lands of Iowa, but left after college to travel the world. Our son, Peter, fell in love with travel and exploring, and soon, with the help of his Youth Minister in Bloomington, Minnesota (a former Christikon staff member), he found his way to Christikon.

Thus, for him and for us, the adventure began. After several years of youth camping, insisting even after we moved to upstate New York that he had to make it back to Christikon during high school, he began working on staff and soon met there his future wife, Anne.    ...more >
