Anabaino “Go Up” “Jesus went up the mountain to pray...” Matthew 14:23Christikon Youth Ministry Retreat: A Visioning Event for All Who Work with Youth in the Church June 25-27, 1010 - Friday supper through an early Sunday breakfast. Cost: $50 Co-sponsored with Northern Rockies Institute of Theology the continuing education ministry of the ELCA Montana SynodThroughout his ministry, Jesus would “go up” for prayer and meditation, for rest and renewal, for teaching and ministry. You’re invited to “go up” into the mountains of south-central Montana, joining with others at Christikon to reflect on ministry with young people in your congregation, to find ideas and direction, to experience renewal and connection with those who are your colleagues in ministry in other congregations. The retreat offers time for interaction and networking with others involved in congregational youth ministry. Some participants will be leading sessions; and it is hoped all will share from their experiences in their congregations. Time will also be set aside to give opportunity for ministry planning among those from the same congregation. The Anabaino Youth Ministry Retreat is scheduled during two days of the on-site Prospectors 1 session (for youth finishing grades 6-8). Some Anabaino participants may want to participate also in Prospectors 1 as adult advisors, particularly if youth from their congregation are registered for that session. Those who wish to do so should also register as adult advisors for Prospectors 1. There is no charge for adult advisors from Christikon’s member congregations who participate in any of our youth sessions. Housing at Christikon Anabaino retreat participants will be housed in the Christikon Living Center. Once the Living Center is filled, participants will also be housed in the nearby Guest Rooms Building. The Living Center is an “adult-appropriate” facility with six sleeping rooms, four bathrooms, a Great Room and kitchen. Each sleeping room has a queen bed and two singles. Each of the five Guest Rooms have a queen or full bed and two singles, with bathrooms in the adjacent bath house. Bedding and towels will be provided in both facilities. We can of course accommodate more Anabaino participants in the Living Center if rooms are shared with others. But we will seek to provide separate housing (in Living Center or Guest Rooms) for those who wish to have it.
